HoloTouch Evaluation Kit Awarded IHMA “Best of 2005” at China Conference
Darien, Connecticut, November 14, 2005 – R. Douglas McPheters, President of HoloTouch, Inc., announced today that its BeamOne evaluation kit was awarded two prestigious Excellence in Holography Awards by the International Hologram Manufacturers Association at its Annual HoloPack*HoloPrint Conference held November 6-8, 2005 in Shenzhen, China, at the Wuzhou Guest House Hotel. HoloPack*HoloPrint 2005 was sponsored by Holography News, a publication of Reconnaissance International Ltd.
“Best New Holographic Product of 2005” and “Best of 2005” awards were presented to McPheters on behalf of HoloTouch, Atlantex Corporation and Holographics North, Inc. by Hugues Souparis, Chairman of the International Hologram Manufacturers Association, during the Conference’s Awards Dinner.
While in Shenzhen, McPheters participated as an invited guest speaker in panels at the Conference exploring exciting new technologies, where he presented a paper entitled “Holograms Power Touchless Human-Machine Interfaces” and answered questions about HoloTouch® technology and its implications for both the interface and hologram industries.
Reached at his Darien office, McPheters observed: “we’re honored to be chosen to receive these honors. BeamOne’s touchless holographic control technology is the basis for our developing products in the gaming, kiosk, lighting, medical and military markets.”
BeamOne projects 1-inch square floating holographic images of its “keys” several inches in front of the hardware. A standard PC sees BeamOne as a keyboard. This device is programmable and comes with all necessary software and the infrared sensors needed to detect an operator’s interaction with its floating holographic images as well as free support.
